Common Questions

How is the Central Florida SurgiCenter different from a Hospital?

Because a hospital must be staffed and equipped to treat all types of medical problems, it provides a much broader range of services then your current needs require. You will be released within hours of surgery to complete your recovery in the comfort of your home. Our pleasant atmosphere and special attention are particularly helpful in easing the fears and stress of surgery, especially for children.

How is the Central Florida SurgiCenter like a Hospital?

  1. Our surgical suites and specialized equipment meet the same high standards.
  2. Your surgeon is supported by a highly-skilled team of anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, registered nurses and other licensed and specially qualified individuals.
  3. Procedures are covered by insurance companies and Medicare.

Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among men. Those men at highest risk are African-American men and those with a family history of prostate cancer diagnosed under the age of 60. The American Cancer Society recommends that all men should get a PSA blood test and digital rectal exam beginning at age 50 except those at high risk, who should start at age 45. These articles provide more information about prostate cancer.
